I think I'm going to print this series out into a little mini-book to keep re-reading. Powerful writing brother.

Thanks, Kyle. This is the outline of my next book, so you can wait for that, but at my present rate of progress you might be waiting a while!

Great read and on point. People think courage is loud, but it mostly happens in the quiet moments when you actually have time to hesitate.

This is excellent John. I’ve been so tired of people talking about how courage is the lack of fear. You’ve done the best job I’ve ever read on explaining with courage really is and the fact that courage is needed in day-to-day life, not just in combat.

This is so good, so spot on- “The truth is, courage is never the absence of fear—it’s the decision to move despite it.”

I have to confess I’m not so sure about “muscle memory” though. I can recall more than a few times where I was thinking, “oh shit.” And then moving because my brothers were in the shit and needed help. There was definitely thought, and definitely dread and fear involved.

Of course you’re talking about Marines — you are a different species with a special knack of getting into the most amazing trouble.
